Hello!

A social media platform I follow and use the most is for sure YouTube. With the short spurts, a great amount of content with a vast spray of content creators, there is bound to be something for everyone in the youtube-verse.

For me personally, I follow a YouTuber named ZakuAurelius! He's part of the Gundam model kit groups, he lives in Korea as an English teacher but does building as his other job. I enjoy watching his reviews to find new builds or building alongside because it's a relaxing, fun escape from the world. It can be done at your own time and leisure + you can make it your own! He is really good at articulating the positives and negatives of each kit, crack funny jokes and make good edits of his work. Overall he is by far my favourite Youtuber because of how much he cares about the builds and how much effort he puts into each one. Even though I may never experience the stuff he does it is great to look up to someone's passion and ability. I follow him on Instagram & Facebook for updates as well as contest opportunities.

I enjoy building on the side of sports + school. It helps me relax, focus on one thing for a while and gets me away from a computer. I've been building since I was at school in the States and haven't stopped since. I take my time and spend only an hour or two here and there for builds so it takes me a long time for one. You can spend months just doing one single kit and making it as amazing as possible or you can rush and complete it in a day, either way, it is your unique creation. I post my creations online in a forum & join competitions there as well.

This Video is my favourite one of his builds.

  1. Hi Josh, interesting post! I definitely agree with you about how youtube's vast amount of content makes it so there is something for everyone. I too like youtubers who are really passionate about what they do as it makes me interested in the topic even if I was not to begin with. I sometimes watch videos from Tested, a youtube channel featuring Adam Savage from MythBusters and he makes quite a few videos about kit building that I find interesting. I personally have never gotten into the model kit stuff but a few of my friends have started playing Warhammer and making the kits for that but it is just so expensive!

Here is a link to one of Tested's videos on minikits in which a guy made a modular set for fantasy type kits:
