As a daily social media user, I feel as though my life revolves around every aspect of it. As a form of communication, I find myself constantly contacting other users through platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. However, this inclination to persistently use social media is for the mere fact of FOMO; that’s right, the fear of missing out. Despite my interactions on social media being a consistent tool for communication with others, I find myself only using it because everyone else does. Without the use of these social media platforms, I feel as though I would not be able to get in contact with others. Since the emergence of social media, I find myself rarely sending a simple SMS message to someone. Instead, here I am wasting my limited data to send a message on Snapchat that could easily be sent with the help of good ol’ text messaging.

A feature that I find is really cool right now is a new feature that is very distinct to the new iPhones. I decided, since I’m poor, to splurge on the new iPhone; which seemed like a good idea because of its new Memoji feature. I find this feature really cool because it combines iMessage feature with a virtual reality concept that helps you become even more connected to the user on the receiving end. Instead of using basic emojis, Memoji allows you to create a VR version of yourself to send videos and pictures of your physical emotional state – with only other iPhone X users, unfortunately – without having to rely on such a differentiating array of pre-authorized emojis. Find below a completely unrealistic, yet, super cute version of myself. Enjoy!
